BMW R1200RT Tank Bag Lock?

Has anyone devised a way to lock their BMW tank bag to their R1200RT? It just occured to me that it would be ridiculously easy for a thief to unlatch it and walk away with it. I don't leave anything of value in it, but the bag itself is $300 replacement value.

I have read threads for years about all types of locks to use on Motorcycles. I have always used two travel cable locks(carried in tankbag pockets) that are spring loaded or retractable. One for my wife's helmet and jacket(thru sleeve) and mine for the same and the tankbag thru the handlebar clamp. They are small, efficient, and the retractability beats out hauling a long cable and lock around. Yes it can be cut with some ease if you have cutters, but all locks can be disabled somehow. The objective is to stop the grab and run thief.
Available thru travel catalogs, rec stores and Ace hardware from Masterloc and others. The springs wear out from time to time, but then so do motorcycles!!

Locking the BMW tank bag

I bought 2 lengths of cable with plastic coating. I looped the ends and crimped them. I threaded on cable thru the tank bag handle, around the bandle bars and back to the cab le. I bought three tiny master locks all keyed from the same key. One locks the bag to the han dle bars. One locks the two zipper pulls together. The last is used to lock my zacket or helmet to the bike.
