Going to the sun highway

Has anybody been on the "going to the Sun" Highway, in northern Montana? It sounds like an absolutely fabulous ride.

It is!

The best. IF you ride it early morning because by late afternoon it's clogged with traffic. And if you are planning it please check to be sure the snow pack has been removed. Otherwise it might not be open yet!

Amazing views!

I drove through the park last September, while there was construction going on and some waiting required, still was able to go through.

For current information: http://home.nps.gov/applications/glac/roadstatus/roadstatus.cfm

I am willing to say, this year, not as much snow has fallen out this way. I would be guessing it will be open early. But still I would check the above web site for current status.

One of the passes in Utah (Wolf Creek - UT35 @10k) open up last week, where last year it wasn't open till mid June and others in July.
