    Blue Ridge Recommendations

Tentatively planning to meet a friend from Savannah GA in Chattanooga, TN on Saturday April 28. We'll then have Sunday thru Wednesday to ride the Blue Ridge Mountains, before we both head towards our homes on Thursday May 3. Looking for recommendations as to possible routes, riding 250 miles or so per day. Lodging recommendations also appreciated. Obviously, route must include the infamous Tail. Would prefer to end the route back close to Chattanooga or Knoxville. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can provide.

    campground

Here's a campground that might be convenient:

I stayed there a couple of nights. It was quiet, with a stream running nearby which made for ideal sleeping.

    Little Switzerland

Be sure to stop at the Switzerland Cafe in Little Switzerland, NC. Great food!

I have stayed at this campgound several times, and highly recommend it. They serve food there if you don't feel like getting back on your bike at the end of the day. The town of Waynesville is a just short drive away, and has just about any type of restaurant fare you could want, if the campground's menu doesn't suit.

It is also very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A friend and I stayed here last summer for the annual Klassic K Kampout in July. Great spot with very helpful staff. It has everything you will need while on the Parkway. Great bomb fire after dinner.
You may also want to check out a more rustic spot just off the Parkway at the Meadow's of Dan exit. I believe it was near Hillsville (rt 58). Sorry I forgot the name.
