Question Glacier NP Hotels/Lodges where to stay?

    Hi all,
Has anyone stayed in Glacier NP at the Hotels or Lodges? I'm planning the 2012 trips and would like a place that I can do rafting and hiking. There are so many choices on their web site and instead of just picking one I thought I'd ask.
    Thanks,
    Robert

Bring lots of money. It is a tourist area and things are priced accordingly.

Mary and I stayed at the Lake McDonald lodge last fall, the last week before they closed for the winter. It was swell. If you've ever stayed in a big old park lodge before, like the Lake Quinault Lodge in the Olympics - it's just like that.

Whatever "that" is, we like it. We have reservations at Many Glacier for mid-June 2012.

We stayed in Apgar village in West Glacier in the log cabins along the creek. Seems like $85 US a night. My brother stayed a few hundred yards away in the lakeview motel. They were way more$$
One of the rafting companies was up the road toward the entrance about a mile.

I've been there lots, but always camped. I'm assuming that's not an option.

On my many trips to Glacier this is where the Mrs. & I stay...bridgestreetcottages.com/

It is outside the park to the south, in a great area. Gives me a good 'base' to do many day tours. Probably at the upper end on the $$$ scale, but this is our spoils when we are in MT.

I'm not associated with these folks at all! They just have a nice product that i'm happy to share with other riders.
