It's been a tough couple of weeks here in Vermont. While my wife and I were spared as we live on high ground, those in the valleys were not so lucky. We've spent several days since Irene passed helping small farmers recover.
A cold front rolled thru today, leaving cooler and drier weather in its wake. By the time I got off work conditions were lovely -- clear skies and mid-fifties. I had the GS today, the hack was parked in the garage. Shod with TKC 80s, the GS called for taking the long way home, the road unpaved.
We've all had those days when everything came together, when the bike felt like an extension of yourself, when the subtlest instinctive weight shift resulted in the bike immediately doing your bidding. It was like that today, and I felt sorry for all those riders bound to the pavement.
