How many have been out of town and wanted to get home and rode 700, 800, or even 900+ miles in one day to complete the trip?

Did you say I Could Have Done 1,000 miles in less than 24 hours and earned my Iron Butt Association licence plate?

This is your chance to do it!

The MTF- Motorcycle Touring Forum is an internet chat group made up of Gals & Guys who ride all brand of M/C:cruisers, sport bikes, touring bikes and dirt bikes. Everyone is welcome and respected regardless of experience. The only requirement is that you enjoy riding a motorcycle.

The MTF has organized several Iron Butt rides and the number of successful finishers is impressive.

The MTF does all the adminsitration. They organize, select the route( see web site), find the witnesses, and process your finshers paperwork. Most important there are other riders who are supporting you in your adventure.

If you have ever thought that you would like to challenge yourself and earn an Iron Butt certifcate this is the time to do it.

The weather should be pleasant, maybe even warm.

This is not a race. 1,000 miles in 24 hours requires a 42 mph average speed including stops. The MTF route is primarily interstate hwy with gas and services. If your riding time averaged 70mph the trip would take just over 14 hours leaving over 9 hours for gas, meals and rest along the way.

Hope you will join me and the other MTF riders.
