From Brazil to Alaska

I was riding close to my home when I noticed the motorcycle in front of me, a Triumph Tiger 991, had a Brazilian flag on the top case. I spoke to the rider when he stopped off at the next gas station. He and his two friends on an older Honda Shadow, were indeed riding from Brazil to Alaska. They left Brazil 3 months ago. They transported their bikes from Columbia to Panama to bypass the most dangerous section. They said it cost $1100 to transport their motorcycle over that section.

They plan to go to Anchorage and then to Montreal. After that, they will load up the bikes on a ship and go home. That's an epic trip!

For my part, I took them out to dinner and welcomed them into my home for the evening.

I hope someday I can accept their offer and ride to Brazil to visit them

A pic before they left

All loaded up and ready to go. On to Anchorage and then Montreal and then Miami and then home to Brazil.

Jorge's blog is a very interesting read of his Brazilian views of America and Canada. Great pictures.

That's a wild ride! I ran into a couple guys in Fairbanks Alaska a few weeks back. One was on a brand new f800gs, the other on a modified KLR. We were headed up the Dalton highway to Deadhorse, and these two guys were as well......BUT that was just the start of their trip.

They were riding from Deadhorse to the southern tip of South America! They have a website as well: http://www.riderightdown.org/

You think you're on a really cool motorcycle trip, and then you run into a couple of guys on a ride like that....made me jealous.
