I am a daily commuter and splitting lanes is mandatory. I am thinking about purchasing the System II city case lids from SierraBMWonline.com and would like to know if anyone has reviewed or purchased these. Thank you in advance for your opinions and or comments.

AFAIK there are no "city" lids for the R1200RT bags.

Just for the previous R1100/R1150 generation bags.

The Sierra site does indeed show a set of city lids for current RT, K-GT, etc luggage at $305 for the pair so they do exist.
I've not seen them live but photos show they're similar in depth to the city lids for earlier luggage versions with which most of us are familiar...

Can't say they do much for me but I don't live in CA and also don't operate in traffic where any serious lane splitting is useful..

Search the Sierra site using "System II" to find them..

City case lids

I just bought them from E bay. They are not a sturdy as the ones from my 1150 R, but for everyday riding they are great. Waterproof, I'm not sure there is still snow on the ground. But I hated the large lids on both bikes, so they fitted the bill. Touring I would put the regular cases back on, but for everyday use I love them. Look good and my boots do not mess them up like the stock lids on the R1200 RT. For $305 including shipping they are a great deal, for me, as I would leave the cases home for just going for a putt. Now they have the rainsuit in the right case and the left is for whatever I buy when shopping for dinner.
