My good friend is one of the "Chosen" waiting for the delivery of his GT. The telephone conversations and emails with BMW indicate delivery sometime in June though nothing definite.
Surely the mechanics at the dealers will have to first go through some kind of training prior to the arrival of these. Even the parts departments will need a range of "Must haves" from light bulbs to spark plugs not to mention special tools for working different tasks on the 1600's.
I would think the sales staff will have to be walked through every aspect of the bikes by BMW before turning them over to customers.
Point is the dealers should have a better idea of delivery time if the above has been scheduled.
Otherwise delivery may go something like this: Forgive me, but we just got these in and just figured out how to get them out of the crate. Let's see . . . Oh here's where the key goes. Shift lever is 1 down 5 up and both brakes are here on the right side. Oh and here's the horn. You be sure and read the owner's manual and thanks for your business.
