My wife and daughter did not invite me to go prom dress shopping today so I thought IÔÇÖd make the best of it and take a little ride since the forecast was mid 50s with sun. On my list of rides IÔÇÖve been meaning to take is a tour of the covered bridges of Lehigh County. IÔÇÖve stumbled upon some of the bridges in my meanderings but there were a few I hadnÔÇÖt seen before so decided to take in all seven this afternoon. I loaded the route into the GPS and took off.
In the interest of time, I slabbed it to Allentown and stopped first at BogertÔÇÖs Bridge. ItÔÇÖs set in a park so I explored a little and watched people fish.
A short ride put me out into the country and took me to Manasses Guth Bridge and WehrÔÇÖs Bridge. There was lots of fishing going on at each bridge. Most of these bridges are crossings of Jordan Creek.
Two more red bridges - RexÔÇÖs Bridge and GeigerÔÇÖs Bridge - were next. The route is well marked and it follows some nice back roads without much traffic.
