My wife and daughter did not invite me to go prom dress shopping today so I thought I‘«÷d make the best of it and take a little ride since the forecast was mid 50s with sun. On my list of rides I‘«÷ve been meaning to take is a tour of the covered bridges of Lehigh County. I‘«÷ve stumbled upon some of the bridges in my meanderings but there were a few I hadn‘«÷t seen before so decided to take in all seven this afternoon. I loaded the route into the GPS and took off.
In the interest of time, I slabbed it to Allentown and stopped first at Bogert‘«÷s Bridge. It‘«÷s set in a park so I explored a little and watched people fish.
A short ride put me out into the country and took me to Manasses Guth Bridge and Wehr‘«÷s Bridge. There was lots of fishing going on at each bridge. Most of these bridges are crossings of Jordan Creek.
Two more red bridges - Rex‘«÷s Bridge and Geiger‘«÷s Bridge - were next. The route is well marked and it follows some nice back roads without much traffic.
