Hi..we are riding from Chicago to Yellowstone. Want to know if there are any REALLY good steak places in Casper, Jackson, or Gillette, WY something along the line of Jakes in Deadwood ....which if you haven't been put it on your list, or Morton's or Ruth's Chris. Those are cities we are staying in. Rest of the trip with family.

We had several good meals in Gillette, at the National rally. For steak, we ate at The Prime Rib and The Chophouse and had good meals at both. (The Prime Rib was packed during the rally, and the service was correspondingly somewhat slow, but they turned out good meals anyway.)

Also, Pokey's BBQ restaurant was good.

The Proud Cut in Cody. And yes you want to be in Cody to ride the Chief Joseph Highway and the Beartooth Pass to Red Lodge. I can't think of two better roads for the entire trip from Chicago to Yellowstone including inside the park. From Cody you can also enter Yellowstone from the east side which is a nice run.
