From the looks of the foliage in the background winter should not be a big concern.

Winter is always a concern here, sometimes it can get all the way down to 32F, for a few hours right before dawn... :stick

BTW, it's colder here this morning (52F) than it is in NYC (62F)! Time to zip in my thermo-liner!!!

Istanbul and Beyond

Hi, some of you may have seen this bike at MOA rallies when it was on display as a Touratech Rally bike or when I rode it as my demonstration bike for off-road classes. Now it is a hack (see next post) and we have been slowly riding around the world. It's still going strong and the only problems are oil changes, valves adjustments and tires! Cheers, Coach.

Istanbul and Beyond, part II

A few weeks ago just outside of Istanbul. It has leading-link forks now and 15" wheels all-around. Pretty good combination but heavy steering at slow speeds on pavement. So I use a handlebar thumb-brake on the sidecar wheel for sliding right turns off-road. At speed it handles like a sports car in the dirt or on the street. Coach
