For those of you not familiar w/ how the IBA http://www.ironbuttrally.com/IBR/default.cfm does rallies it's sort of like a time and distance rally and gimmick rally all rolled into one. reading comprehension, timing and routing skills will separate the riders from the pack.

This should be a fun rally to attend. :laugh

Lets help stamp out polio while having fun riding some wonderful roads

Banquet speaker: Bob Higdon, 2009 Iron Butt Rallymaster :bow

Come to Folsom on May 22 for this 8-hour fun rally and banquet, a fund raiser for fighting polio. Everyone who knows Bob Mutchler is aware of his long involvement in long-distance riding and his passion to see polio eradicated from the earth. As a fund raiser for PolioPlus, Bob and some folks have come up with something that will give everyone an opportunity to donate while having fun. We will have an eight hour fun rally on May 22. The rally will consist of a very pleasant day of riding while taxing your reading comprehension skills. The rally will be followed by a banquet :eat with guest speaker Bob Higdon, rallymaster for the 2009 Iron Butt Rally.
Last year our RTE/awards banquet was attended by 40 riders, some from as far away as Massachusetts. Persons who had contributed or raised $1,000.00 or more to PolioPlus were presented with a special award from Rotary International. Included in that list were such great riders as Jeff Earls, Tom Loftus, Tom Melchild, Robert St. George, Joe Zulaski and Lord Kneebone. This year's "fun ride" rallymasters are Bob Mutchler, Lisa and Reiner Kappenberger, Mr. CAL 24 Tom Melchild and Allan Pratt. We have been given a special hotel room rate of only $79.00 from the Hilton Garden Inn in Folsom, CA on May 21 and May 22. This rate will include a full, cooked-to-order breakfast for everyone in each guest room. Breakfast is normally $10.95 per person, so this is a great value. Read more adn register for the rally at http://www.bestbits.org/nopolio and follow the hotel link you find there to get the special room rate. This event is specifically designed as a fund raiser for PolioPlus, Rotary International's program to eradicate polio from the world. For more information on PolioPlus go to www.polioplusride.org. The cost for the banquet is only $35.00, the same as last year. For the rally, we are asking for a minimum donation of $50.00 to PolioPlus. Of course we encourage larger contributions to PolioPlus and will be awarding a special prize to the person who makes the largest donation. Since space is very limited, we encourage you to register early. Those riding the rally will be given priority admission to the banquet on Saturday evening. Once again, the link for more info and registration is http://www.bestbits.org/nopolio
See you there! :twirl
