Clutch drag

I'm starting to experience quite a bit of clutch drag on the 07 GT and wonder how common this issue is. The bike has always squawked some from a dead stop in first gear but thought this was a "normal" BMW idiosyncrasy. I talked to the service writer at the shop and he mentioned that warped clutch plates had been a subject to a silent recall on that model but that mine might have too many miles on it now (34000), to qualify. Does any one out there know any thing more about this issue or had similar experience?.
