No, but its a type i saw a lot of in the area and from what I remember reading there are not too many varieties at that elevation on that rim of the canyon.

I believe that's a Utah Juniper (Juniperus oesteosperma), pretty common in higher desert regions of N. Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. It's also called shag bark Juniper. :whistle
