Arlington Cemetery Christmas Day 2009

Today being a time to spend with family I went to visit my parents at Arlington and also to see the wreaths laid there each year as part of the Wreaths Across America Project. The day was rather overcast which always seems to be the case when I visit; perhaps I am drawn to go on such days knowing it will be mostly deserted and quiet....

My Christmas Wish List

May your dreams come true
Upon this night.
May that magical star
Shine Steady and Bright.

May it light your way
To Home and Hearth.
May you find therein
A Loving Heart.

May the season bring
You all Good Cheer.
May those Afar
Be once more Near.

May the Spirit of Christmas
We hold so dear;
Remain Within
Throughout The Year.

Arlington

Is certainly the most emotionally powerful place I have ever visited. Thanks for posting.

Each year when my wife and I visit her family in France, we visit the cemetary in Normandy. It is much the same.

Thanks for posting!

Thanks

My mom and dad are in Arlington as well as multiple uncles. I don't get back there very often so your post was particularly meaningful.
