New Madison club article series: "On Track with Sam Hokin"

I've decided to write a series of website articles (at random intervals) on my track riding experiences, entitled "On Track with Sam Hokin." The first installment, "Getting Started", about my first track day riding my stripped-down K75RT, is now online:

I also added a video that I made, "Blackhawk Gone".

After my first track day, I bought a dedicated track bike, so subsequent articles will not be BMW-focused, but track riding is of interest to all riders, especially BMW riders looking at the lovely fast new bikes coming out of Berlin.

    thanks for the writeup!

taping mirrors, headlights, wire tying things i've heard of, but removing the body work and luggage racks is really going the extra mile!

How did you safety wire or otherwise seal your oil plug?
BTW, great write-up. Also enjoyed the video.

I just taped over it, which tech inspection was fine with. My track bike has a hole drilled thorough the oil plug tab (the part you grab), and it's wired to the frame, but I didn't bother doing that to my BMW that first day. But my track bike is fully race legal, at least to CCS standards, which is way beyond what you need for open track days.

    Thanks for reading and watching!
