Husqvarna's slow leak continues of their future defining new motorcyle. This and the other pictures at MCN began showing on the web yesterday. The bike appears simple and aggressive in an attempt to target that illusive 'young' buyer how ever they define themselves by age or use.

Husqvarna has set up a mini-site in anticipation of the July 1 world launch of the new 900.

SBK

Friday - Free Practice

Marco Melandri made the most of post-Monza testing at Aragon for the Yamaha World Superbike Team to set the quickest time in FP1.

The Italian was one of two riders to dip into the sub-2 minute bracket, ending up with a 1 minute 59.822 seconds lap.

Points leader Carlos Checa (Althea Racing Ducati) was the only other rider to match Melandri, finishing just a fraction behind.

Ayrton Badovini (BMW Motorrad Italia SBK) confirmed his splendid run of form with third-quickest time ahead of Leon Camier (Aprilia Alitalia Racing Team) and Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team).

Despite a mechanical problem that kept one of his two bikes in the pits Michel Fabrizio (Suzuki Alstare) was next up in sixth, just ahead of Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia Racing Team), an early faller, together with Noriyuki Haga (PATA Aprilia).

The two factory BMW Motorrad Motorsport machines of Leon Haslam and Troy Corser are currently some way off the pace, respectively in 14th and 16th.

Friday Qualifying 1 will be underway shortly after this post

Friday, 17 June : UPDATE - WSBK Aragon Q1

SBK

world.sbk.com: Melandri emerges as Aragon front runner

BMW Motorrad Motorsport - WSBK - Arag??n - Qualifying Practice 1
17.06.2011
Arag??n ÔÇô Free Practice & Qualifying Practice 1.
Friday, 17 June 2011.
Weather conditions: Sunny.
Temperature: Air: 24 ÔÇô 32 ??C, Track: 43 ÔÇô 56 ??C
Number of riders participating: 20 from 12 teams
Fastest lap Free Practice: Marco Melandri (Yamaha WSBK Team) 1:59.822 min
Fastest lap Qualifying Practice 1: Marco Melandri (Yamaha WSBK Team) 1:59.726 min

The first race weekend of the FIM Superbike World Championship at the new Motorland Arag??n venue has started. The Spanish race track hosts the seventh round of the 2011 season. For Team BMW Motorrad Motorsport today was the first time it had been here in hot and sunny weather. When it tested here with works riders, Leon Haslam (GBR) and Troy Corser (AUS), in the winter it was pretty cool. Therefore the team used this Friday to test numerous things and to adapt the set-up of the BMW S 1000 RR to the circuit and the hot conditions. Troy finished the first Qualifying practice in 12th, while Leon qualified provis
ionally 14th.

i-HBJS9gg-S.jpg
Troy Corser:
Fastest lap Free Practice: 2:01.419 min (P16)/Fastest lap Qualifying Practice: 2:00.798 min (P12)
ÔÇ£My back is still a little bit sore for sitting on the bike, but once I start riding I am not having any problems moving on the bike. We struggled a little bit to get some grip on the rear and had lots of spin. We tried a lot of different solutions to cure the problem. The track itself feels like it has grip, but at first we were not able to use it. Then we tried something at the very end of the session and that was definitely better. All in all I am not too worried, we will now compare the good setup from the test and the one from today, and will work out a setting for tomorrow.ÔÇØ

i-4Rz7vJJ-S.jpg
Leon Haslam:
Fastest lap Free Practice: 2:01.264 min (P14)/Fastest lap Qualifying Practice 1: 2:01.047 min (P14)
ÔÇ£At the minute we are trying to work through a few issues, ones which have been affecting us over the last few races. Today we focused on trying to fine tune the setting we have, as the track temperature is extremely high in relation to the last time we tested here. Tomorrow is a new day, the team is working hard, as always, to incorporate my feedback and give me what I need from the bike. We will have to see what tomorrow brings. It is just a case of working hard to try and find the solution we are looking for.ÔÇØ

Rainer B?ñumel (Head of Race Operations):
ÔÇ£After both of our riders left the last race weekend in Misano injured, today our priority was to sort out and test some new strategies instead of pushing for quick lap times. The grip level was completely different to when we tested here, so we tried a lot of different ideas. We were able to collect a good amount of information that we will now analyse as we continue with our preparation for Sunday.ÔÇØ

Troycorser.com: Further frustration for Troy

i-SBptq5M-S.jpg

Troy endured another frustrating time in practice and qualifying at Aragon Motorland today. He finished sixteenth quickest in this morningÔÇÖs untimed session and then managed to improve a bit to end twelfth fastest in this afternoonÔÇÖs qualifying session. Problems, possibly related to the way the bikeÔÇÖs electronics are set up, caused TroyÔÇÖs frustration and his injuries from last weekendÔÇÖs crash did not help either. His backside is black and blue and his right hip is causing problems on the bike. His rib cage was also hurt in the crash and when Troy moves across the tank to change the bikeÔÇÖs direction, he knows that his ribs are not yet healed. Marco Melandri (Yamaha) topped the leaderboard in this afternoonÔÇÖs qualifying, with a time of 1:59.726. Melandri was the only rider to dip under the two minute mark, but close by were series leader Carlos Checa (Ducati), Noriyuki Haga (Aprilia) and Leon Camier (Aprilia). The top eleven riders were separated by just one second, so once again tomorrowÔÇÖs qualifying and Superpole will be of utmost importance in securing a good grid position. Troy - 12th, 2:00.798 ItÔÇÖs been another frustrating day and although I have some pain on the bike, I donÔÇÖt think itÔÇÖs affecting my riding. I can cope with the pain OK, but it would be nice to have the bike working properly and doing what I want it to do, instead of having problems. The problems are not new ones, but it seems that our bike is very sensitive to changes and when that happens the electronics donÔÇÖt seem to manage whatÔÇÖs going on. The bike seems very sensitive to grip level and the heat of the track and we need to be able to calculate what to do to improve in this area. If we move the weight around the bike to improve the grip, the balance of the bike is affected and the engine braking gets affected also. At the moment, the BMW Italia team seems to be able to manage their bikes a bit better, but maybe that is because their mechanics and technicians have many, many years of experience - more than most of our team. Also, they have Max, who used to work for our team. At first, I thought that he was just being lent to them to help them progress quickly and that he would return. HeÔÇÖs a very experienced telemetrist and that is the kind of person you need to work with, analyse the date and then interpret what we riders say before tailoring the electronics to suit. Every rider is different and what settings work with one rider usually are not the best for another. It takes time, but thereÔÇÖs no substitute for experience. I rode a bit cautiously today because the last thing I wanted or needed was another crash. Actually my lap times are not far off at all and once again one second separates just the top eleven. I am sure that my aches and pains will get less and less and I donÔÇÖt see them as being a problem on the bike this weekend. Hopefully, we will sort out our problems and do well in qualifying and Superpole tomorrow. Wish me luck, Troy

BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team - Motorland Aragon - Practice Day 1
17.06.2011
Positive feedback from the first day of official practice at Aragon, where Ayrton Badovini set the eighth fastest time in qualifying. Lorenzo Lanzi is constantly improving and lies sixteenth. Barrier is third in Superstock with Zanetti eighth.

On the first day of testing at Motorland Aragon (Spain) the BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team continues making progress in the World Championship. Ayrton Badovini, after putting in the third fastest time in the first practice session, qualified eighth in the timed session, confirming his steady progress since the race at Monza. Lorenzo Lanzi, substituting for James Toseland at Motorland Aragon, is racing for the first time at the Spanish circuit, and has improved significantly from the first practice session to qualifying. He is currently in sixteenth.

i-GT3jZzf-S.jpg

It was a good day's work for the BMW Motorrad Italy Superstock Team riders, Sylvain Barrier and Lorenzo Zanetti, who finished the first qualifying session held this afternoon in third and eighth respectively. In the morning free practice Zanetti was the second fastest and Barrier fourth.

Serafino Foti, sporting director of BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team said: "Today we worked well and tried to get the best race set-up for the bike in these high temperatures. We have used a few new tyres and seen Ayrton moving up the time sheets, and fortunately we entered the top sixteen with relative ease in aiming for Superpole. Tomorrow morning the track temperature will be better and we will try to make the most of the more favourable weather conditions. Race by race, Ayrton is increasingly aware of his abilities and is approaching the race weekend with more optimism and calmness, while working well with his team. As for Lorenzo, in addition to learning the bike he has never ridden here at Aragon. All in all, he is in a good position but he will definitely try to improve further tomorrow. We have suffered the most in the Superstock this afternoon in qualifying, after a better free practice session this morning. The high track temperature probably has penalized us more than we expected. Tomorrow we will try some changes in practice to be faster in the afternoon during the qualifying. "

Pedro & Ricardo Rodriguez, driving a Ferrari 250TR entered by the North American Racing Team, fought the works Ferraris of Hill-Gendebien and Parkes-Mairesse for 22 hours. While leading at 7am (after 15 hours), it took the works mechanics over 20 minutes to replace a defective condenser and the brothers, now 5 laps down but with 9 hours to go, started the chase for the lead with lap times of 10 secs faster than the leading works Ferrari of Hill-Gendebien. With only 2 hours to go and back in second place, Pedro came in with a smoking engine and retired the car. The brothers received a standing ovation from the crowd

BMW Motorrad expands in Latin America. F 800 R produced in Manaus starts selling.
...BMW has officially started marketing the BMW F 800 R, the second model provided by BMW Motorrad Brazil under the CKD regime (Complete Knock Down), in Manaus. The brand adopted the present assembly process late in 2009, when BMW began producing the G 650 GS, BMW's first motorcycle to be assembled in Brazil, in collaboration with Dafra Motorcycles, which has become absolute sales blockbuster...

worldsbk.com: Checa claws top slot back in Q1

Badovini has another strong session for BMW Motorrad Italia while Haslam and Coser continue to struggle. Corser in P16 just made the cut to advance to Superpole.

From yesterday's post Q1 comments it is clear the factory team is struggling with a number of issues. What is not clear is how much of the Q2 performance is a direct result of this and what part the teams apparent new practice strategy is playing in this.

BMW Motorrad Motorsport continues to dither around trying to find a solution to their problems. When the 2011 BMW teams were announced the factory team was described as racing with the full 2011 package while the BMW Italia Team would begin the campaign with a hybrid bike that combine elements of the 2010 and 2011 racing package. The Italian B-Squad struggled in the beginning part of the season with the jump from being a WSS – 1000 to Superbike, injuries and bike teething problems. The German A-Squad started the season strongly but has seen its fortunes in battle decline. The two teams appear to be on very different trajectories at this point in the season.

A nagging question in the back of my mind is how long Hendrik von Kuenheim, the head of BMW Motorrad, will leave the team alone to sort out their problems. Von Kuenheim comes to racing not so much as a fan of racing but as a the corporate executive he is and brings the production performance expectations of a corporate executive to the race track. In 2010 the press credited/blamed his pressure for the teams meltdown at the end of the season. 2011 began with his hand picked replacements. How long before he gets involved in micro managing the team to get the results his executive expectations want to bring back to Munich?

worldsbk.com: Melandri takes his first ever Tissot Superpole win

fim-live.com: Mark of greatness for Melandri in Tissot Superpole

BMW Motorrad Motorsport - WSBK - Aragon - Superpole
18.06.2011

Arag??n ÔÇô Qualifying Practice 2 & Superpole.
Saturday, 18 June 2011.
Weather conditions: Light clouds with strong wind.
Temperature: Air: 23 ÔÇô 26 ??C, Track: 33 ÔÇô 47 ??C
Number of riders participating: 20 from 12 teams
Fastest lap Qualifying Practices: Carlos Checa (Althea Racing) 1:59.183 min
Fastest lap Superpole 3: Marco Melandri (Yamaha WSBK Team) 1:57.437 min

Team BMW Motorrad Motorsport experienced a disappointing Saturday at Motorland Arag??n (ESP). Works riders, Leon Haslam (GBR) and Troy Corser (AUS), will start the seventh round of the 2011 FIM Superbike World Championship from the fourth row. Leon finished the Superpole qualifying in 14th, while Troy qualified in 16th.

The best placed rider on a BMW S1000 RR was Ayrton Badovini (ITA) of the BMW Motorrad Italia SBK Team who will start from the second row. The Italian was eighth fastest in Superpole one and set the fourth fastest time in Superpole two to progress safely to Superpole three. In that decisive session Badovini had to go out on race tyres as he had already used his qualifiers in the previous two sessions and eventually finished in eighth position. ÔÇ£I am very happy, the bike is working really well and I cannot wait for the races tomorrowÔÇØ, said Badovini.

Leon Haslam:
Fastest lap Qualifying Practices: 2:00.007 min (P13) / Fastest lap FP: 2:00.075 min (P8) / Fastest lap Superpole 1: 1:59.367 min (P14)

ÔÇ£We posted a good time in Superpole one on race tyres and decided to stay in the garage. Along with the guys, I thought we were safe and planned to save the qualifying tyres for the remaining two sessions. Sadly the gamble didnÔÇÖt pay off. A lot of the other guys put a qualifying tyre on for their second run in SP1, and that pushed us down from fourth to outside the top 12. ItÔÇÖs a shame because I felt we had good pace, and the qualifying tyre seemed to be giving the other guys an extra second, so I think we could have done the same. Still we believe we have a good race pace for tomorrow, so will try to get a good start and see what we can do in the races.ÔÇØ

Troy Corser:
Fastest lap Qualifying Practices: 2:00.182 min (P16) / Fastest lap FP: 2:00.808 min (P15) / Fastest lap Superpole 1: 1:59.565 min (P16)

ÔÇ£Today the bike just was not doing what we wanted it to do. We were struggling with the race tyre, so we put the qualifier on. But with that we struggled even more. It was a difficult day. We will work hard to sort out these issues for tomorrow. In the races anything is still possible. We just need a good start and to find a better setup with the bike.ÔÇØ

Rainer B?ñumel (Head of Race Operations):
ÔÇ£On LeonÔÇÖs side we just had bad luck. We were doing pretty well with the race tyres. At the end of Superpole one we thought his time would be good enough to make it to the next session, so we did not do another lap. But unfortunately this plan did not work out. On TroyÔÇÖs side we had some issues with the chassis, as we did not have any grip. We are working hard to solve this for tomorrow. LetÔÇÖs wait and see what is possible in the races. The fact that we were quite competitive with Leon on race tyres gives us reason to be confident.ÔÇ£

BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team - Motorland Aragon - Superpole
18.06.2011
Steady progress for the BMW Motorrad Superbike Team Italy : Ayrton Badovini starts tomorrow from the second row with the eighth fastest time, while Lanzi starts from the fifth row. In Superstock, Zanetti set the second fastest time and Barrier was fifth.
Setting the eighth fastest time in Superpole 3, the final and deciding stint of setting the starting grid, means Ayrton Badovini will start from the second row. Ayrton was consistent in all sessions with results that are encouraging for the race tomorrow.

Badovini said: "I am delighted to have ridden in all three Superpoles. I enjoyed the SP 2 because I had never been so fast with the qualifying tyres. Too bad for PS 3, where I didn't get the most out of the race tyre. I'm confident for tomorrow because we have a good pace and we can be consistent in the race."

In Superstock, Lorenzo Zanetti had a good test and was sandwiched between Ducatis, setting the second fastest time behind Danilo Petrucci. Sylvain Barrier put in the fifth fastest lap time and will start from second row enabling him to keep touch with the leaders.

Serafino Foti, sporting director of BMW Motorrad Superbike Team Italy said: "Excellent work by Ayrton and his team! Today the conditions were difficult because the temperature was high. We tried to adopt a strategy to try to reach the Superpole final and achieved our goal. In the last session we had no qualifiers, and so had to use race tyres. That meant Ayrton could not improve his performance. We are optimistic for the race tomorrow as Ayrton showed a good pace. Lanzi has missed the Superpole but is gaining more confidence on the bike and the track. Tomorrow he should have a good race. As for the Superstock, Zanetti has improved considerably from practice yesterday, thanks to solving some problems. Tomorrow he will certainly put up a fight for a good result even though Petrucci on the Ducati will be a tough nut to crack. Sylvain also lapped faster than yesterday but will start from the second row. "

BMW Group announces a 3rd motorcycle to be assembled in Brazil under CKD scheme.
18.06.2011

With the presence of Hendrik von Kuenheim, Worldwide BMW Motorrad Manager, along with Henning Dornbusch, president of BMW Group Brazil and Rolf Epp, BMW Motorrad Brazil Manager, BMW Motorcycle Museum at Curitiba was the scene of an important event for the motorcycle brand in Brazil.

Amid a collection of 40 rare BMW motorcycles, Mr Hendrik von Kuenheim announced the assembly of yet another motorcycle model under CKD scheme in Manaus. From June, the F 800 GS will start to be assembled in the Dafra factory along with the G 650 GS and F 800 R. The F 800 GS will be available at the BMW Motorrad dealerships in Brazil from August onwards.

P0043874-S.jpg

"In 2009, BMW Motorrad put into operation its first plant outside Europe. We invested in the Manaus CKD factory along with our local partner Dafra and more than 2400 single-cylinder BMW motorcycles have been produced so far. The experience, the market success and the customer acceptance obtained by the G 650 GS produced in Manaus were so positive that we decided to extend the CKD production for a total of three models", said Hendrik von Kuenheim, global head of BMW Motorrad.

Another major revelation was the new 6-cylinder motorcycle, the BMW K 1600 GT, which reinforces the excellence of BMW Motorrad in the production of touring motorcycles. Along with enduro and sports motorcycles, touring models have been one of the most important and successful segments for BMW.

The 6-cylinder engine combines maneuverability and impressive power with an incredible level of riding smoothness, all the way between long distance travel and dynamic riding on winding roads. With this first 6-cylinder motorcycle, BMW Motorrad writes an entirely new chapter in the history of the brand.

BMW Motorrad Motorsport - WSBK - Update on Troy Corser
21.06.2011
Update on Troy Corser.

After he underwent surgery on his fractured arm, BMW Motorrad Motorsport works rider Troy Corser is on his way back to full recovery.
M??nchen/Stephanskirchen, 21 June 2011. BMW Motorrad Motorsport works rider, Troy Corser (AUS), is on his way back to full recovery after he suffered clean fractures of ulna and radius in his left forearm during a crash at Motorland Arag??n (ESP) on Sunday. Troy flew back to the United Kingdom on Monday morning.

On Monday evening he underwent surgery to fix the broken ulna and radius. The operation was carried out at the Alexandra Hospital in Manchester (GBR) by surgeon Mike Hayton, a specialist for hand, wrist and elbow injuries. Hayton fixed the fractures with two titanium plates and twelve screws, six per bone. The operation went smoothly without any complications.
Troy was able to leave the hospital soon after and is now recovering at home. In ten days he will undergo further examinations to see how the healing of the bones and the wound progresses. It is expected that he will be back to full recovery within some weeksÔÇÖ time, but he will miss the next round of the FIM Superbike World Championship at Brno (CZE) that will take place from 8th to 10th July.

Bernhard Gobmeier, BMW Motorrad Motorsport Director:
ÔÇ£The whole team wishes Troy a speedy recovery and we are happy to hear that the surgery went so well. But we have decided that he will definitely not ride at the next round at Brno as his health and safety have highest priority for us. We will then see how his recovery progresses and will decide at a later time if he will participate at the British round at Silverstone end of July. If we will replace Troy by another rider at Brno is not decided yet. Troy is a part of our BMW family and for us the most important thing is that he recovers well and is back to full fitness as soon as possible. We will do anything we can do from our side to support him during his recovery.ÔÇØ

Troy Corse.com

TroyÔÇÖs weekend went from bad to worsetoday in Aragon when he crashed in the second race and broke both bones in his left arm. Fortunately both are clean breaks and Troy is hoping to be able to return to action in the next round in Brno in three weeks. The crash in race two followed a top ten finish in race one which saw Troy and team mate Leon Haslam trade paint on more than one occasion, much to the delight of the sun baked crowd. Troy - Race 1: 10th, Race 2: DNF It hasnÔÇÖt been a great weekend for me by any means. Our poor grid position meant a lot of hard work and thatÔÇÖs not easy to do when your bike is not working as well as you want it to. It was actually a bit better today than the previous two days, though I felt that I didnÔÇÖt have much grip in race one and the bike was sliding about at a very early stage. I was happy with my start in race one but, as the race wore on, I didnÔÇÖt pass too many people. I did though, have a good battle with my team mate. Leon and I touched three or four times, but it was all fair and nothing dangerous. I didnÔÇÖt even get to complete one lap of race two. I overshot the hairpin at the end of the back straight, but when I turned the bike and headed towards the track again I was hit by Berger. He had also overshot the corner and I was in his way! I think it was my fault, because if had have been in my normal place on the track, I wouldnÔÇÖt have been hit. His bike hit my left arm and thatÔÇÖs what did the damage. I knew IÔÇÖd hurt myself and X-rays confirmed that I had broken both bones (ulna and radius) in my left arm. Both breaks are clean breaks, so I am pretty lucky, if I can say that! Considering the crash, I couldÔÇÖve done a lot more damage to myself. I will see my specialist as soon as I can and find out what has to be done to my arm. HeÔÇÖll let me know what the best course of action is and IÔÇÖll go from there. Obviously I want to race in the next round in Brno in three weeks, but IÔÇÖll have see how it all works out. Wish me luck Troy

The first of what I hope are many MotoGP wins for Ben Spies

11-ben-spies-motogp0original-L.jpg

Sunday 26 June : UPDATE ÔÇô European GP - Valencia

Formula 1

Vettel won the race to turn 1 and began to streak away from the crowd jammed into the turn. As they filtered out he was followed by Webber, Alonso, Massa, Rosberg and Button.

The first round of pit stops allowed Hamilton to move up behind his teammate. Over in the Mercedes pit Schumacher pitted from P6 after Hamilton's return and came in contact with Petrov as he exited. On the next lap he was forced to return to the pits for a new nose. The incident dropped him from dueling for P6 to a P22 return and a long climb to gain any points for himself and his team. Race officials reviewed the incident and no action was taken.

Red Bull were 1-2 until the 21st lap when Alonso was able to overtake Webber in the first DRS zone and make the pass stick. At that point the gap to Vettel was under three seconds but by the time the next round of pit stops began on lap 30 Vettel had stretched his lead to over 18 seconds allowing him to pit and retain his P1 slot on his return to the fray.

Alonso was not as fortunate as Vettel. His lead over Webber was marginal and the charging Australian set a fast lap as the round of stops began allowing him to catch and pass his Spanish rival while he was in the pits.

Massa had briefly held the lead during all of this but quickly lost it and tumbled down to P5 as Hamilton passed him for P4. Massa settled in ahead of Button who was complain to his pits of problems with his KERS.

After this round of stops all the points paying positions were still running on softs meaning there would be one more round of pit stops to come. 3.6 seconds covered the potential podium finishers at this point with Hamilton a full 18 seconds off their pace in P4. Vettel had put P16 and below a lap down as he set another fast lap on lap 36/57.

Setting the stage for the last round of pit stops there is little separating the podium contenders but the script seems to favor the Red Bull team. They have shown better times on the compound they will finish the race on than Ferrari has.

Vettel's pit stop preparation strategy appears to be to use the blue flag and his car advantage to set a series of fast laps. His name was lit up in purple on the live timing board for three laps. He opened up nearly 4 second lead over Webber in P2 who had a second-and-half lead on Alonso at this point. The gap to Hamilton in P4 had widdened to over 30 seconds.

On lap 42 Webber pitted for his final stop yeilding P2 to Alonso. Hamilton pitted and rejoined behind Massa and Button but the Brazilian needed to make a stop and his KERS-less teammate is has been told to make as long a run as he can before pitting.

While all of this was going on Vettel had opened the gap to 6.4 seconds over Alonso and had lapped the field to P7.

Lap 47 saw Alonso finally pit for his last set of tires. He maintained his position ahead of Webber but the leader's gap now was shown as 20.7 seconds. At this point Vettel's barring a pit problem Vettel's lead seemed secure.

Webber was putting immense pressure on Alonso with less than a second separating the two. The question at this point was could Webber put a pass on Alonso to help protect his teammates lead or would the pressure to defend position be enough to slow the Spaniard down?

While Alonso in his Ferrari as dueling with the Red Bull team the once stellar McLarens were languishing in P5 and P6. Button had mad it past Hamilton after Hamilton's final pit stop. The pair were 53+ and 58+ seconds behind the leader. Massa in P4 was just shy of 42 seconds behind Vettel but more importantly for Ferrari he had almost 12 seconds in hand over Button. Both had yet to make their final pit stop. With almost 20 seconds on Hamilton there was little fear of loosing position to him but Button could still present a problem.

On lap 47 Vettel made his final pit stop and then went out to set new fast laps once again. Two laps later Massa and Button both pitted and Hamilton served up egg to put on my face as he passed the pair to retake P4.

Webber's pit radio crackled with instructions for him to 'short shift' a clear indication that he would finish the race nursing his car to the end if possible Alonso passed him to take P2

As the flag fell the points paying top ten drivers were

1 Vettel
2 Alonso
3 Webber
4 Hamilton
5 Massa
6 Button
7 Rosberg
A lap down -
8 Alguersuari
9 Sutil
10 Heidfeld

The rest of the field:
11 Perez
12 Barrichello
13 Buemi
14 Di Resta
15 Petrov
16 Kobayashi
17 Schumacher
18 Maldonado
19 Kovalainen
20 Trulli
21 Glock
22 D'Ambrosio
23 Luzzi
24 Karthkeyan

Results are unofficial at this time.

As I start a new week a couple of big Thank Yous are in order.

Thank you for the well wishes about being under the weather last week.

Memorial weekend I left the gang at the Offical-Fly-Overland Coffee Shop moved and started the adventure of finding a new home and new work. June has been a challenging yet rewarding month. I have set up housekeeping in temporary lodgings in one of the larger suburbs of Lilydale Mn. I have landed a short term project management gig that will support me while a continue defining and refining the next iteration of my life's adventure looks like. A week ago it all caught up with me. I am doing fine again and ready to haunt the forum with my daily posts.

Thank you to all who sent birthday wishes.

Saturday I celebrated my birthday with life long friends. Sunday I celebrated it again with most of the Pit Crew. Tonight I celebrating the birthday friends birthday. For longer than I care to admit we have managed to turn these three days in June into wonderful times of family and friends spread over three days. Thanks to all of you for being a part of what made this year another fun celebration of life.

It has been an interesting month that starts what will be a great year, thank you for being a part of it.
