While we at it with what we're listening to, what's your favorite record covers? Alot to list but I'll begin with DK. Winston Smith is a collage mastermind.

One of the best things about vinyl was the attention paid to the LP covers. This one's my favorite:

For sheer artistry, look for an artist. These are two of my favorites by Philip Castle and Vargas, respectively:

It doesn't hurt that inside are two great albums.

For "Most Fun to Play With", there are several as well.

Zeppelin III with the pinwheel disk of images that showed through the punched-out holes:

Faces' "Ooh La La" with the guy's jaw & eyes that moved when you pulled a tab:

Alice Cooper's "School's Out" cover that had short legs that folded out and a top that opened to reveal desk 'contents'. Said 'contents' included a pair of paper panties, at least in early editions:

Finally, one of the first really fun covers was "The Who - Live at Leeds"

Inside was everyone's favorite poster:

and a bunch of facsimile documents that periodically lead to the breathless ebay ad for "Original Woodstock contract! 'My Generation' lyrics, and more!" by those too young and clueless to know better.
