carrying a spare bulb/s

Hi

Just came back from a trip to Canada. I live in Oklahoma. Boy, was it hot. First trip to use a camleback. Had a 2 liter bladder in my tankbag. Might have saved my life. Never realised how dehydrated one can get.

My question concerns carrying a spare headlight bulb. Yes, I blew one and had to do some interesting side trips to find an H7 replacement.
It is recommended to carry a spare full set of bulbs, but how do you do it? The bulbs come in a flimsy plastic crushable case. Does anyone sell sets of bulbs in a travel friendly case? Is there a solution to carrying the bulb?

Any idea will be greatly appreciated.

I carry spare bulbs for everything. Finding something roadworthy to pack them in isn't very difficult.

On extended trips I have put spare bulbs and some fuses in plastic travel bar soap container with some sort of padding. There may be more elegant ways available on the market but this has been an inexpensive and practical way for me to pack and protect small delicate little darlings like spare bulbs.

I own a new GSA and am preparing for its first trip next month. Today I am buying replacement bulbs to carry on the bike. As you found out, it would be much better to have them on hand rather than have to drive all over should one fail.

BMW used to make a great bulb kit (I have been looking for one for a while!) You can get a similar kit with bulbs and fuses in a protective case aftermarket for about $25.

I carry at least one spare of every bulb on my R12RT at all times. The only exception is the small parking lights beside the low beams. I carry two H7s. I simply wrap a bit of padding around each one and put a them in a sandwich bag (stored in the tail).

Thanks.

Where does one find such a kit?
