RV'ers not happy?

What else;

Where do you keep the helocopter! Some of these rigs are quite the "palace(s) on wheels":), and a lot of toys in tow. I have not hit the right buttons yet at my casino to fancy up my life with one of these rigs yet. Maybe someday, when I have lost some luster to ride a lot of miles on the Beemer. I still enjoy the miles on the bikes. Randy....PS; THX to that lady and the campground info nearby. I'm certain they will fill up soon....I should tell my folks about it, too:):usa

RV=electrical hook up.

There are those of us that have a CPAP or other medical devices, requiring electricity, as part of our riding kit for years. I added one when I was in my thirties. I have traveled coast to cost with one. I opt for electrical hook up camp sites when available.

The RV hookups don't always allow bikers with this type of equipment to hook up. Sue did a great job in West Bend and I was able to use my CPAP by camping of the fringe of the RV area. Was not able to do the same at Gillette.

Electrical Needs - C-PAP & other

FYI - Every rally site since Trenton (2002) has had tent camping space set aside for people who need electricity for medical reasons (ie .. CPAP). This was also true in Gillette. All you need to do is communicate with the rally chairman. He'll hook you up.

:D

The thing I would recommend is that if you have an RV and think that we need to have more space for RVs at the rallies, can you let the Rally Search Committee know about suggestions for places that would be good to consider.

Moving roadblocks!

The landbarges belong on the Interstates. Did you ever get stuck behind one of them on the Blue Ridge Parkway? What the hell are they thinking? 6 miles of traffic backed up behind them and they give you a dirty look when you pass them illegally! :banghead

Ron

Just sayin

They are thinking they are on vacation too. They are thinking they want to see the scenery at a pace I donÔÇÖt normally observe when IÔÇÖm on my bike, because IÔÇÖm whipping through the turns. They are thinking, why are these bikes flashing their lights at me and wanting me to give ÔÇ£themÔÇØ space. They are thinking there must be a gang of hellions behind them trying to run them off the road & murder them in their sleep. They are not motorcyclist, never tried it, never imagined the feeling.
Some people actually have more than one hobby. I know, hard to imagine! I have ridden for over 32 years, my husband for over 47 years, many of those racing. HeÔÇÖs a wreck & IÔÇÖm worse. We love to ride, hopefully always will. But we also like to RV. We started attending MOA rallies in DuQuoin and made fun of the trailer trash. We have RVÔÇÖd to 3 national events only missing 3 total since then.
I hope all of you continue the excellent health you have enjoyed throughout all your riding days, however if the time ever comes that you need to slow down or heaven forbid even stop riding, you remember the utterances you have made regarding RV-ers. Because you know what, they are paying the extra fuel charges, the extra camping fees, for what? To be with their friends old and new and kick tires and tell lies as long as possible.
BTW, we will be riding to Gray and Canaan and everywhere in between as long as the good Lord lets us.

To each his own. Maybe when I am old and can't ride anymore I will be clogging up the back roads as well. :scratch Have fun. Just sayin...

In theory and planning you are correct. In real life it does not always pan out that way.

I am sorry I didnÔÇÖt realize you had more rights to the roadway than anyone else.

And to think they would have the nerve to give You a dirty look for passing illegally. Some people

I'm one of those people who ride and drive an RV. I'm very aware of who is behind me and if I see anyone that I appear to be holding up on any two lane highway I simply pull over when appropriate and let them pass. That's also been my experience when riding the parkway for the most part and when they pull over for me I make sure I give them a big wave and a thumbs up.
However ignorance comes in all forms. Last year on the parkway I came up on a group of about 30 cruisers riding in police fashion at a breathtaking 35 mph. They appeared that they were ridding at their limit and I couldn't take the noise any longer. It sure was tempting for this ex racer to show them what a BMW could do but I opted to pull in to scenic overlook and spend ten minutes to take in the fall colors. Never saw them again.

Wouldn't it be wonderfull if there was a utopian rally site? But until there is we will always have someone or some group unhappy with the choice. If I've learned anything from my 20+ years as a MOA member, it's this seems to be one of the most complaining groups I've ever :thumb :violin :heart been associated with. And I still love you guys!

Or have a family that would like to join you on camping trips while you tool around on your bike . . . :thumb

Not more, I want the same. I just wish that they would pull over.

That's because you always have the early arrivals with the pop ups that *must* have electricity.

In Vermont I think about 40% of the folks that had to have electricty for their cpaps actually had one.

That is unless they make two models one of which is silent. ;) Those folks had the best party lights.

If you plan on bringing an RV, I would suggest you make a reservation early. I did this morning. See:

RV Spots will be available on a first come first served basis beginning with online pre-registration April 1, 2009. You must contact the RV Chairman by phone or email with the following information:

Name
Complete Address
Phone Number
Type and Length of RV
Power Requirements

The RV Chairman will assign a location based on the specifications of your rig. Sorry, we cannot guarantee any two sites will be located adjacent to one another. We will take one reservation per person to make it as fair as possible for everyone.

There will be a three night minimum stay per site. The three nights are intended to be Thursday - Saturday night the nights of the rally itself. If you are volunteering for early set-up, nights previous to Thursday will be charged at the same rate.

Rates:
Full Hook-Up Sites $20 Per Night
Water & Elec. Only $17 Per Night

For more information, please contact the RV Committee Chairman:
