Tank Bags

Grant,

Don't need a steel tank. Just glue some super magnets under your tupperware. I did on my 97 RT and it works great. Just be sure that your magnets in the bag are all the same polarity, otherwise parts or all of your bag may "fly off" rather than stick.

DAMHIK :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh

Never thought of that! Does JB weld stick to Tupperware well?
Just a thought tho. Will the super magnets affect any electronics under there?
I have such magnets (will hold up 7 Lbs)

I have a magnetic bag on my RT, had it on a Goldwing, too. A single strap around the steering head is all that's ever been needed to hold it in place. The weight of the bag has always kept on the tank. Flip it up out of the way to gas up. The only niggle is that hard braking will cause the bag to slide forward; might hit your horn button, or change the ESA setting, etc. It's an Oxford Sport bag; they're on ebay regularly for around $60-70, well made, convert to daypack. etc.

Rka

RKA is great.

Richard, the owner, is a good friend, and he??s gonna be at the Rally of Tenessee, for sure !

+1 for RKA... Great bags and super nice folks. I have a small Shiloh Road on my 12GS, along with a full set of RKA pannier liner bags. Good stuff all around.

I roughed up the bottom side and used latex caulk.

Not electronics close to the gas tank that I know of.
