THAT is how you take a picture of a motorcycle

I thought it was about great photos of bikes. Forgive me for not realizing that there is only one great photo of a bike, and that you already posted it. :D

We could make this thread about great photos of bikes. Do we want to open the photos for critique? I have some ideas on how to improve the image you posted. It's a great subject matter that can be tricky to make remarkable.

The white is overexposed.

I won't wash it before photographing it next time. That'll fix that problem.

Consider the possibility that the bike really is THAT white. It's so white, in fact, that it's amazing the thing can still dance.

It's white, but it's not so white that you can't determine the contours on it. Stop your camera down a bit and get a better photo with more contour expressed.

White bike - overexposed on the front panel. See how it's completely washed out?

White bike - exposed correctly. See how the shadows show on the white panels? I have more trouble taking pictures of this bike that aren't burned on some portion of the bike. I'd imagine that your bike, with even greater expanses of white is even harder to get a good exposure for. I've learned to park this bike under a tree if I want even a hope of getting a good shot. The shadows will allow the camera to find an exposure that works for the whole scene.

Taken w/ 1998 Technology... Nikon's CoolPix 880... While this isn't the original...
There are some jpeg artifacts... Arrgh.
Regardless... It was still a beauty morning!

Here is my R1100RT on the way to work today

This picture was taken this AM on Hwy 70 at St Augustine pass on my way to White Sands. It is not readily evident that the wind is blowing at a steady 35 MPH and gusting at this pass up to 60 MPH. I will post the moment after disaster in another thread.

I shot this photo on a sunny day last week, sunny days have been very rare this spring.

Cheers!

Some pictures make you drool, some make you want to go out and spend money on a bike just like the one in the picture.

This one makes me mad! It makes me want to go out and ride and it is raining with tornado warnings in my corner of the world.

Seriously :thumb :thumb

Thanks! I was going to post this one, but it needs to straightening first. :ha

If I had shoes on I would have moved the bike closer to the water...but I was sitting in a lawn chair reading, when I looked up and decided I needed yet another picture of the GT...
