What's the scoop on clearing an ABS fault?

basketcase

What's that noise...?
A friend has a '94 K1100LT, and the ABS lights are blinking -- non-stop.

I've read the articles on the Internet BMW site, but they don't seem to address the later model K's.

Is it the same procedure, or is there another trick to know about before putting a jumper in the plugs?

Thanks,
Rick

Hello everybody. I have a question that is kind of long, please bear with me...

Turn on switch
- middle red light (triangle) --> solid
- ABS blinks

Press both brakes
- middle red light and ABS light blink alternatively (one, then the other, then the other, etc.)

Start bike and move about a foot or two
- both lights go away

Is that the way they should blink? I am talking about the red section in my post. Is this how they should blink or both at the same time?

Thank you for your time,
Harry

If the lights stop blinking after you start moving, it is just the abs making sure the sensors work, and it is normal. If they alternate blinking after starting, try stopping and shut off the engine and restart it. My roadster used to do that if the battery was low, and restarting would clear it.
