We did a night (scuba) dive with them off of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. That was a lot of fun!

First, where is this taken? And second, kind of cool that these two pictures were taken at essentially the exact same spot.

What I'm trying to grasp, is how the mountain in the center seems so much closer in GotFog's picture than in GSteve's picture. It's not a matter of cropping...I tried that and the mountain is still a different size in the picture.

    Still, very nice shots!!

We have some exceedingly talented photographers in this organization.

The location is the Oxbow Bend, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. As to the different perspectives in the two images, mine is a composite of eleven images taken with 100 mm lens, blended together to form a single panorama picture. I suspect that GotFog's image was taken as a single image with a longer telephoto lens. The two differing techniques and equipment gives the differing perspective. In GotFog's photo the mountain appears to be THE subject of the image. In my panorama image, the mountain is AN element. I hope that answers your question. Glad you liked the photos.
