Very nice and what an outstanding venture. The seeds you collected on your journey are well planted and taking root. Excellent report and a bright future ahead of you. BTW did you import frogs for smoothies yet ?

:bow Los desafios que usted aguanto le han propulsado a un futuro brillante. Gracias para creer en usted mismo y en el Dios Incaico.

the moto venture is slowly taking off. once i secure more funding i think things will moving pretty fast!

when are you coming down to Nicaragua???

$12,000? How many meters squared? What about foreign property ownership?

Do you use an external filter when putting gas in your tank? Are there any places in Nicarauga to rent a motorcycle if one were to fly in? Nice travels!

Muchas Gracias

I had a Nicaraguan girlfriend, I might just do that:heart ............ I'll check the blog. Posts like yours inspire me. So, for that I thank you. I'll be a lot closer July 08, I'll be living back in CA.

$12,000? How many meters squared? What about foreign property ownership?

the lot is 1,000 squared varas. varas is an old measurement which was the measurement of an arm length of a noble man. short anwer a vara is 0.81 meters.

foreign property ownership is possible...

Do you use an external filter when putting gas in your tank?

on my 650 Dakar i put in the gasoline as it is. the only time i had to reset the on board 'computer' was in brasil where gas contain alcohol and the bike wasn't doing the mixture right. other than that the bike runs great even with gas bought from a bottle.

Are there any places in Nicarauga to rent a motorcycle if one were to fly in? Nice travels!

yes, that is my new business :D
so far i just have Yamaha's DT 175cc but planning to have 450/650 BMWs at some point (i'm looking for investors if anyone is interested).
you can fly into Managua, i'll have someone pick you up, spend the night at my house and take off on your Nicaragua adventure.

I'm also doing guided tours which can be combined with property scounting...

The road to El Rama

The road to El Rama in the Autonomous Atlantic South Region is pretty much perfect and it is 300 km loooong. It has brand new pavement, very little traffic except for a couple trucks here and there and it is an amazing ride. you go up mountians, villages, lot's of curves and breath taking views. I was to busy looking around that i forgot to take pictures. Next time I'll go I'll do a better job. But here are a couple to give you an idea.

252034357-M.jpg

from this picture you can see that we are in the dry season and everything is turning brown.

252034465-M.jpg

because the road is in good condition some people tend to speed and don't know how to drive

252034705-M.jpg

then we finally reach El Rama where there is a major port in the Rio Mico

252035133-M.jpg

the idea of this place/river, the new road and the port is to start importing goods directly from the US. right now over 90% of merchandise comes from Honduras and Costa Rica. Slowly this will change.

252035947-M.jpg

the vegetation, climate and people reminded me of the Amazon in Brasil.

here is a picture of people transfering milk from one side of the river to the other.... from a boat to a pick up truck... they move the milk with a normal bucket from the blue container to the gray containers that the guy is carrying.

252036366-M.jpg

on the way to El Rama you also pass over one of the tallest bridges in Nicaragua which 150 meters high. you can see all the kids with their blue and white school uniform.

252038015-M.jpg

and while the road to El Rama is in great condition you always have to keep an eye out for animals!
