Replacement battery for K11RS

TECH:

We're looking for an (aftermarket) replacement battery for a 1996 K11RS.
I am familiar with BMW's offerings and that from Westco. Are there any others that make the grade?

BFF,
I had a couple of WestCo's at one time. Now I order my batteries from www.digi-key.com Your battery in a Panasonic is an LC-X1220P and will cost you $40.25 delivered free if you print the order form and send a check with the order.
I have two of the 28HA batteries and one of the 20AH batteries in my bikes. I have replaced them after about 4 years just so I don't get stranded somewhere. Only had one problem with one of these SLA batteries, it was a WestCo and it failed to hold more than about 9 Volts at 2 years of age. Westco replaced it at cost but by then I had found the Digi-Key site and had no further need for WestCo.

Odyssey is another source and there have been good and bad reports on them too. The PC680 will fit your K11 but you might have to twist the cables a little to make it fit. They regularly sell right around $60 on eBay.

HTH,

Thanks for the reply, Mick.

Next time around, I'll go the Digi-key route. I ended up calling Chicago BMW and they sent me a BMW/Exide model for about $65.00 (20% off all BMW parts). I thought that was fair and nixes state sales taxes, too.

BFF,
Was that for the standard 'wet' cell battery or the new GEL battery?
