Post a pic of your Airhead

You can find this bike on page #49 of this thread. Before new paint, handle bars, wheel bearings, side covers, and general maintenance.A "barn bike"is like A butterfly in the spring,as it emerges from the barn, looking A little less like A catapiler.

-Thumbs up! Looks great.

Nice bike. Did you convert the bike from an RT to Pichler.

Thanks for posting.

i'd figure converted from a stock R100. regular seat, drum in back, no RT tag on the battery cover.
looks kinda nose heavy with the Pich. No lowers available for that fairing, or do you have them off for hot weather?

Sold a 77RS and got this for even money.
Taking the first ride

Chrome valve covers and windshield from S Meyer in Germany added.

Low, low mileage and heated grips, oh yeah.

Big D, Ur pretty cool sittin on that Mystic, but Ur even cooler sittin behind a trap set poundin out the beat to some good Memphis Blues. Barry

RT with the Pichler

This bike was converted from a regular old RT by the previous owner. The seat is a custom jobbie that I can't stand, because it makes my butt look fat (or at least the bike's butt). The "RT" part of the tag on the battery cover is in my toolbox, awaiting resurrection.

The Pichler fairing is a great piece of kit in terms of airflow and comfort, but it is heavy being hung out there so far forward. It has been removed and sold to a fine gentleman way down in Alabama for his /5, and I am restoring a proper RT fairing for the bike over the winter. I am accepting suggestions on colour schemes, by the way.

The thing I like about this picture is that one can pose the question as to which engine is older, the BMW or the DC-3?

Well, there were no Motorsport RTs, but I wouldn't blame you if you did the only one ...

My other Airhead

Fortunately this is my "other" Airhead that I am working on this winter....we picked it up in the spring and have done a lot of work on her but she needs some more....

Here's what she looked like the day we picked her up:
<a href="http://s376.photobucket.com/albums/oo207/brainep/?action=view&current=R90-6Pickup29Mar08.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/oo207/brainep/R90-6Pickup29Mar08.jpg" border="0" alt="R90/6"></a>

and when we took her down (again) to start the next phase of a rebuild:
<a href="http://s376.photobucket.com/albums/oo207/brainep/?action=view&current=R90-1a.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/oo207/brainep/R90-1a.jpg" border="0" alt="R90/6"></a>

And what she looks like today:
<a href="http://s376.photobucket.com/albums/oo207/brainep/?action=view&current=R90-1project.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/oo207/brainep/R90-1project.jpg" border="0" alt="R90/6"></a>

Keep 'em flying and riding brothers and sister.....ride 'em and don't hide 'em. ...

Cheers,
Brian

Yeah, I am torn....the previous owner was really proud of the paint job (spent $600 on it he said) and the girls oddly enough do seem to like it. It's one of a kind for sure. I guess I will make the decision a little later. I am rebuilding the clutch right now which is the only thing that really needs to be done on it.....already rebuilt the heads and a whole lot more. You will never have to figure out where you parked your bike when you go to rallies.

No one will ever steal it.

If someone did steal it, it would be really easy to trace.

Winter in Iowa.

I start up my bikes every now and then in the winter, yes I know the arguments against it....but, I cannot stand the thought of those pistons just sitting there! Too much snow to ride however.
