As I write this, I am waiting for $2000 worth of new parts and can't wait to start the rebuild.
This one is not your all-stock BMW... though an awful lot of parts are BMW...just not the same vintage as the original....
She started life as a 1981 R100RT, Nikasil cylinders, 40mm Bings, etc. Maybe some ten years ago, she got a suspension transplant: rear mono drive 33:11, front is a late-airhead with a single Brembo. Nice handling, road-burner bike! Soon to be for sale, unless yacht sales pick up substantially and quickly.....
Engine "retro'd" with peanut valve covers, and the traditional starter cover and airbox. Re-positioned shifter and rear brake. Custom seat with rack.
This is my 1991 GS. It has about 69,000 miles on it and still keep charging along. Nicest bike I've ever owned.
I do believe you are the first person I've ever seen who believes a stock BMW seat is "comfy." Personally, I have found them to be comfortable the same way a pine rail would be comfortable.Get a stock one. They're fantastic comfy.

Nice bike. Seats are a known issue for BMW.1976 R75/6, new bike for me, love it all except for the seat! Any suggestions?

Honestly, I kinda' like mine. That didn't keep me from picking up another one.I do believe you are the first person I've ever seen who believes a stock BMW seat is "comfy." Personally, I have found them to be comfortable the same way a pine rail would be comfortable.
There are two Corbins that frequently turn up used on ebay for about half what a new one would cost you (although, buying new, you can choose all kinds of color variations). There's a dual tourer that looks a lot like the one you have. I have one of these on my RS right now. Then, there's the 'Gunfighter' that I wish I had. Both are excellent seats. In terms of a blend of comfort, clean lines, and overall aesthetics, Corbin is my aftermarket seat of choice.
