Mineral King 1.jpg

R100GSPD on the way to Mineral King Ca. last month.

The temps the previous week at 7,500' were in the teens, so I replaced the stock slipstream deflector with the aftermarket Parabellum, and brought my cool weather gear.
It was 80 daytime 50 nighttime 8 of 12 days at 7,000' plus on the trip.

2nd time I owned this bike. The guy(Buddy) of mine I bought it from 20 odd years ago is long deceased. Bought it back from the son of the guy (recently passed away) I sold it too. Hope I’m not jinxed. Looks to still be in pretty decent shape. Far from perfect, but hopefully a decent rider.

Pretty cool that you got your motorcycle back again. I guess the next few weeks will be like getting reacquainted with an old friend. :)

This is my Granada Red 1973 R60/5 LWB. A previous owner, not the one I got it from, appears to have upgraded to 750 jugs according to the markings on the cylinder base. They also upgraded to Bing 32mm CV carbs. She needs a good case cleaning, but will have to look for the best way to do that without causing and damage. Other than that, she is a pretty sweet ride.

Here is mine - an 83 R100RS, European spec, have owned it since 85. Was living in Germany at the time. So it is possible some of you may have seen it.
My in-laws own a BMW dealership in Trier Germany. I believe they have been in business now for about 75 years. My brother in-law painted it.
