Post a pic of your Airhead

Glad you checked and confirmed the situation...inquiring minds want to know! Yup, hang out and pick up some nuggets on the forum. There are some very knowledgeable people in the Airheads forum. You might also want to check out airheads.org. There's a mailing list that you can subscribe to off of that website that has additional people with extensive backgrounds in Airheads - Tom Cutter, Oak Okleshen, Snowbum, Matt Parkhouse, Ted Porter, Anton Largiader (also on the MOA forum).

R75 on Wolf Creek Pass

Took my first ride on the '73 R75/5 today. Need to sort out some fueling issues, but otherwise a nice ride.

Haven't posted anything here in a while. Finally got her running well. That is, I'm reasonably certain that it'll start every time :dance.

Just in case anyone is curious as to what a leaky rear main seal does. (note: this is after some cleaning up was done on it)

78 r100s

This is a pic of my 1978 R100S. The bike had been stored in a garage in Fort Collins Colorado for about 23 years. I bought the bike in September of 2009 and tore it down to the frame which started the assessment process to see what I had and what I needed to get it back to its original condition. Took me 8 months, but finally finished. Was a real labor of love. Will post a pic of the finished product later.

Nice, Bert :)

Not to be a jerk, just giving a heads-up: the valve covers are on the wrong sides. The unpainted lines should be roughly parallel to the ground.

Unless it bugs you, I'd wait until the next time you have them off to do the swap.

What Mark said :). Mine were also reversed. :dance

Good eyes on the valve covers, Mark. While I didn't notice it until you mentioned it, I did put them back on correctly when I completed the redo, (probably just got lucky). Will post a pic of the finished product, maybe tomorrow.

Regards,

Bert

Bert;

Not a bad looking R100S for having sat in a garage for 23 years. I'm anxious to see what you have turned it into. A frog into a princess??
