Post a pic of your Airhead

I'm sure that sheep skin is comfortable, but I think you are hiding a big tank dent or duct taped seat under there.:scratch

That is just a plain-old SHEEP skin lying there on Phaedrus' back.

I learned this trick some thirty years ago from a high-miler BMW freak.

This is sooooooo much more comfortable than sitting on vinyl plastic; cool in summer, warm in winter and nice and snuggly ALL the time!

Also, you have something to put on the ground if you want to take a nap, have a picnic, or whatever.

I love your bike! But dude hide that rug if you ride through Custer State Park some big old Buff might try to do ya in.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear nealart,

You said: "...I think you are hiding a big tank dent or duct taped seat under there."

Oh, maybe NOT, i.e. 'none of the above.' :thumb

...big tank dent or duct taped seat

nealart,

Just to establish that I am not trying to hide anything, please note the ugly 'blem' at the back of the front fender. I HATE that! I'll fix it this winter.

Beautiful bike! I don't think I've seen another RS with Lesters.

Thanks!

Thank you.

I've seen many RS's with Lester wheels, especially "way back when..."

I like them better even than BMW snowflake wheels which I'm quite fond of. (I've had both.) The Lesters don't seem to be affected as much by gusty crosswinds and they are waaaaay easier to clean as well.

My first '77 RS had them on there when I purchased the bike. I believe I appreciate those Lesters a lot more now than I did thirty years ago when they were common.

That bike is so clean I have to assume it does not run.

Just kidding.

You are really making me hate my beat up RS.

My new to me '75 R75/6. A wonderful looking, running and handling bike. Taken today.

Hey, bprider679...

If you are asking about my blue one, it is a 1977 model.

Oh, and yrfuneralmytrial - that black Slash Six is GORGEOUS!

Lucky you!

Thanks orbitangel. It's far from perfect but looks great in the pic!

don't be saying that!! We who belong to the $2000 RS club don't have to worry about scratches or bugs or dirt or rain ... we just ride 'em. I don't care if my red smoke has 5 different shades of faded paint and I don't much care if you have got some wounds on your faithful steed. It is still getting you there and back with the most satisfaction.

BTW was that you on 142 going past Bong lasterday? That RS went past so fast I couldn't tell if it was your gray smoke or not.

I got this back on the road in August and have over 6k miles since then. Yep, it is a beat up RS. Yep, it is my tied-for-favorite motorcycle ever.

I wish memberships to that club were still available! You can't get one that looks like yours for that money.

I like the bungee cords!

No, I only rode as far as the dentist's office yesterday.:bluduh

I was on 142 on Sunday though.

I do like not having to worry about stones and bugs.

kstoo...

Nice shot and I love that red bike. Your photo reminds me of one of mine.

I shot this one five years ago (another Wisconsin Fall.)

I can't stand it! I have my own version of your head-on shot too.

From one "beat-up RS" owner to another...
