Moto Guzzi National Rally Disaster!

My heart goes out to our Guzzi brothers and sisters and to the fine folks at Money Creek Haven. :cry

I now have a new duty in life; watching the sump pump. For two days in a row and over 8 inches of rain (still raining today), I have spent my spare time in the basement utility room offering words of encouragement to the pump. Generators are on standby in case I lose electric. Working in the home office is the order of the day. If the pump should fail, there goes the basement; gotta be a better way!?

We got off easy. My driveway looks like a mini grand canyon but we live to play another day.

This was an absolutely bewitching day in southern Minnesota.

When they built the basement, I had two sump wells put in. One for the regular sump pump and one for the water driven one that takes over if the level gets up to a set mark.

That is really terrible. :cry
Think of this folks, it could easily have been one of our rallies...

Oh man, I feel bad for all those people. We camped there in June for the Hiawatha Rally and a Guzzi rider invited us to come back for their National. I was thinking of going, but forgot. I'm glad I forgot.

I just talked to the factory rep on Sat. the 8th of Sep at Leo's South in Lakeville MN. He said his luxury semi tractor with shower and the works were totaled. All of the demo bikes and trailer were totaled. He said as far as he knows nobody from the rally was injured very bad.

The factory rep also said that there were cattle feed lots on the hill behind the camp grounds. All of the manure washed down and the water was a slury of waste.
