    Kilty

Please say a prayer for the Kiltmeister, Don Faichney, friend to many here in Beemerville and a pillar of our club.

The splines are worn, the motor can no longer be rebuilt. He's at the end of a very long ride.

    Thanks,

    Ian

It's a rare man who lives with such gusto.

When I think of him I have to sMile! He always did.

I am very sorry to read that Don is so ill. He has contributed much to clubs on this side of the border.

I remember Don receiving that award, he was very gracious. There's only one Kiltmeister and he was always smiling when you would see him.

    Ride like the wind Don!

Don and his lovely wife Vera and I became very close when I worked out of town in Oshawa.
I was invited into their home on a regular basis enjoying Vera's best home cooking.
I had many a long talk about the MOA and Ambassadorship and tried to be as best as the man he is.

He recently worked with Yvonne L'Hureaux and myself to nominate Quebec's newest Ambassador, Claude Gagné.

Don mentored me into the MOA, and we are lifelong friends.

I've only met and had dealings with Don a few times, but he was always friendly, patient and understanding.

He still does :-) He's not gone yet, just approaching the end. Those of us who had the immense pleasure of knowing him, even a little, know what a warm and wonderful person he's been. Toasting Kilty with broccoli florets and a beverage of your choice seems in order...

I first met Kilty sometime around 1996 at BMWBMW's Square Root Rally where I was initiated as a "Rolling Broccoli Rider." We became fast friends, a bond that grew a little stronger after I discovered my ancestors hailed from the Highlands of Scotland too. Kind. Respectful. Gracious. These are just a few adjectives that best describe Don. I just prey he's not in any pain or discomfort.

Sad news indeed. Over many rallies and many years, wherever we met, Don always had a smile-
