Awards & Tallys

I Used to Be Someone
If you don't care about awards, please move on to the next thread...

I'm curious to know what changes, if any, are in store for Awards and Tallys this year? Could we see a list of categories?

Is there still going to be a high mileage touring award, and if so, what proof is needed for this? I might have a chance at second place, behind someone who has probably already left for the rally. :)

I care.:wave
Most of the awards you don't have any control over: oldest, youngest, long distance, that will be from one of the four corners or Alaska.
The one you can control is the "Grand tour".
That you need proof that you have been on the road for all the miles and time that you are claiming. You can't have gone home.
The ones that I remember were out for about 10,000 miles and 3 months.

Johnathan and Allison are glad to be your chairs this year's for Awards and Tallies. There a few changes. First, the most noticable, we are not in the Registration tent. To better serve you and be available in closer proximity, we are located near the Door Prize ticket drop off. We hope this change will encourage and remind you to consider signing yourself or your club for awards. But remember, all claims for awards must be done so before 1:30 PM on Saturday at the Awards and Tallies booth.

Criteria for the awards are seperated into three categories, Individual Awards, Age Awards, and Club Awards. The second most notable change is how Club Awards will be determined. All awards involving distance calculations will be calculated using a Garmin GPS and software data.

Individul Awards: To qualify for an individual award, you must be able to prove your point of origin and provide supporting documentation. Additionally, you may also be required to provide additional supporting documentation if necessary to support your claim for an award. This can done by providing vehicle registrations, gas and repair reciepts, personal journals, GPS data, ticket stubs, or a passport.

Age Awards: To qualify for an age award, a governement issued document with your birth date and/or motorcycle model year must be provided. This can be done with a drivers license, passport, or even a copy of a birth certificate.

Club Awards: Unlike past years, this information will not be pulled from the registration sheets. Rather each member of a club must sign an official registration sheet. Blank copies will be provided at the Awards and Tallies booth. Your club officers may also have a copy of this and may pass it around as well at the 'campfires' and scheduled meetings. You are not limited to registration to one of two types of chartered clubs as in the past. Rather, you can register yourself for every club that you actually belong to.
