ABS on/off switch for R1100SA?

rapiddog

I'd like to install an on/off switch for my ABS like the GS has.
Anyone done this to a road model like the S?
I'm looking for part#'s and where I couuld splice it in if this is possible.

Maybe the left handlebar cluster from a GS would be a start. It has a button to disable the ABS.

Why would you want to disable the ABS on a street bike? Are you backing it into corners Colin Edwards style?

:burnout

Funny you should ask that question...

It would be an alternative for aggresive riding, particularly for track days for instance.

I tend to use alot of back brake from my dirt riding days, and I have gotten hot into a short straight and started to back it in a bit.
Surprise! The ABS kicks in and you are straight up and headed off-road...:eek

I seem to recall a rocker switch on older bikes like the K75S?

I think it's an ABS reset. We have that swtich on our 94RS.

But yeah, the GS has a switch to turn the ABS off for offroad riding.

My new '04 RS allows the rear brake to be used independant of the front, I like that :D. I am looking forward to a track day or two this summer.
