This is the first motorcycle that I ever rode on as a child. My Uncle Jack (RIP) lived in Richmond VA. and rode to Staunton (where we lived) one day and gave us rides on the back of his 1966 R60. Even as a kid I was amazed how quiet the bike was. Jack was a BMW fanactic and took meticulous care of them. He was a weekend rider an I think he always had his bikes serviced in Lynchurg VA.
I contacted my Aunt about a year ago to see if I could come see the bikes that she still had. There was "Fritz" - a 1969 R60 and "Max" the 1966 R60 that I rode on forty some years ago. There were various luggage sets, windscreens, even his leather jacket in the garage. My aunt said he had many BMWs over ther years but due to health reasons sold them all except these two.
