A Bit of History . . .
Built in 1907 by the Milwaukee Electric Railway & Light Company, it continues in its 100th year as a living shortline as well as a museum.

The East Troy Electric Railroad runs from East Troy to Mukwonago in southeast Wisconsin. Fares are $10.00 for adults.

"Nothing threatens the character of many of the old roads in the southeast like the housing developments that gobble up fields and woodlots with such a voracious appetite.""Little area remains untouched by our desires and ambitions," writing about the encroachment of the concrete monster upon open land.

Note: Just south of East Troy, a rider can easily do 10 Rustic Roads to earn your Wisconsin Rustic Roads Patch. Some of these SE Wisconsin big house are wrecking the character of these Rustic Roads. These are not my favorite Rustic Roads, but still a very nice ride.
