hard cases

I recently bought a 1988 K75S. Great motorcycle. I have a line on a pair of used hard cases for it, but I don't know for sure if they will fit my machine. They came off of a K-100. The photographs show the protrusion at the bottom front of each case that appears to fit into the mounting hole directly in front of the passenger footpeg. Can anyone say for certain that these cases will fit my K-75S? My motorcycle already has the hard plastic mounting rails. I just don't know enough about the cases themselves to spend the money through the mail. Is there a part number somewhere on the cases that will pin them down? Help!

Early K-bike bags are really tough to find for any kind of reasonable price- I tried for 3 years and never found any. If I were you I would snap them up- even if they don't fit I would bet that you can turn them around without losing any money besides maybe shipping costs.

There is a lockable latch at the forward bottom part of each case. It locks into the hole on the plastic side rail. I have an 1989 k100lt. I believe that the side cases were the same. You might check with Bob's BMW in Maryland. They carry side cases for all years of 'K' bikes. There catalog is also a good source to have for p/n's..

Good luck...Dave

Yes they will fit

The early K-bikes (K75, K100, K1100, all varieties) will all use the same cases. There were two styles of cases for these bikes. Both styles fit the same mounting hardware.

ackchooly, there are 3 variations:

first flat latches with tiny, toy like keys

second normal latches pointing inward

third normal latches pointing outward

The last two can be keyed the same as the ignition

HTH!
:p
