Wisconsin 2007: Dairy Cattle ÔÇô a riders guide

I'm with GoatShed on the Spotted Cow!

I also really like this specialised breed known as the RennKuh:

And last January I was in New Glarus and met this cow...Hmmm, black jacket, little puddin-bowl on her head...must be a Harley-ridin' cow- no wonder she didn't want to talk to me!

I'll bet she didn't wave either.

Brown Swiss came to the United States from Switzerland in 1869. They are solid brown varying from very light to dark. They weigh 1,500 pounds when mature.

Cow Tour

Looks like the beginning of a Cow Tour!!! I say that we should put Ballen and M1Ka in charge. Ballen can work on the Rally Recogniton Swag and Stage Announcements--I suggest some large Teat Pins. M1Ka can plot the route to include every breed of dairy cow existing in Wisconsin. We're on to something here. "Wisconsin----It's not just about the Cheese!"

Like most things Scottish, they are hardy, ornery, will eat anything and don't suffer fools. Definitiely not Purina cake eaters!!!

PS I've tipped a few dairy cows in my day. lol.

in scotland they're "coo's" i accidentally hit one with a rock once hiking in the hills behind where i went to school in stirling scotland

and about this "cow tipping" thing, i'm not certain it's legit, any cow i've ever seen sleeping does it lying down, my best friend's dad growing up had the only farm in the city and he regards cow tipping as complete and utter bs.............

Did the "coo" throw the rock back or just run your ass down??? How does one accidently hit a 1200 pound animal with a rock? Were you sober?

Yes, cow tipping is an urban legend but still fun to think about. Sort of on par with a snipe hunt. Google "cow tipping" and see what you come up with. "Cow tipping" for us was code for driving out in the country while drinking mass quantities of beer. No longer recommended.

There are small hurds of galloway and belted galloway sprinkled through the state. Here is a link to one such operation.

about that, yep, completely sober, didn't realize they were grazing cattle so high up, i kicked a rock of the side of a cliff while hiking, about 2 seconds later i heard a cow make a noise down below me, i can only assume as i never saw the rock actually hit the poor cow...............

NDSU might have started tipping

North Dakota State students (NDSU) have been proud of their cow tipping adventures for years; as you might guess, there is not much exciting entertainment in Fargo.
