Here's a product I want to share with the community. It's called FLEXO?® Expandable Sleeving. 
I use this stuff when ever I do any wire jobs. I've found uses for it in my home and on the "cages" too.
I lean toward the "Clean-Cut" version, but I also have used the "Flexo-PET". Either makes for a sanitary wire job. I've even used this to cover hoses to protect them from chafing and to dress them up a bit.
I usually buy from here, http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage.cfm?&DID=7&WebPage_ID=161 , but I imagine it can be found elsewhere, too.
I'm not affiliated with this company or Parts Express. The sh*t just works. When I find something that works I believe in sharing positive results.
