Road Trip Planning L.A. through Utah to Colorado

Planning a trip to Boulder from Los Angeles.

1. How can I forecast weather across time and space? (oops, looks like weather.com and myrideweather.com)
2. What do I need to think about for altitude on my K75s?
3. Any good camping suggestions along I-15 and I-170?
4. Anyone know the backroads of Utah? I am considering a detour...

avoid I-15 and I-70 completely unless you are in a big hurry, take the blue highways, any route you pick will be great. the Black Canyon of the Gunnison( north rim ) is an incredible camp ground, it takes some gravel to get in. south side is paved.
