I am renting a G650GS in Italy this summer and need to know if this bike has an accessory socket and where it is located and is it a BMW type socket.

Thanks.....John

Well, my wife's F650GS has one and I'd be surprised if the newer one's did not. Her's is on the left side and below the oil tank/battery cover (faux gas tank).

Accessory Socket Mod - Kinda?

The socket location is only easily seen when laying on your back on the ground.

If your going to be using a tank bag that has accessory d-rings or loops (ie: Wolfman Mt Ranier) run a short extension up to the side of the tank bag and tether it with a rubber-band.

That way you can plug and unplug it up at tank bag level and within view.

It is less apt to be forgotten and have an unintentional disconnect when you go to step off or on the bike.

Thanks for the reply. Is it a BMW socket or the standard cigarette lighter socket.

BMW powerlet socket.
I plugged the charger into ours last night and had to kneel down to find it myself alongside the silver frame...made me laugh playing hide-n-seek.
