Vintage Belt Buckle?

tgf429

I picked up a older looking belt buckle at a garage sale.

Can someone tell me anything about this?

Is says Marshall Dill Company, San Francisco on the back and has Pewter stamped on the back.

See picture.

Thanks

I can't help with your buckle. But it reminded me of a buckle that I have...haven't worn it in a while...I typically wear my Airheads Beemer Club buckle. Don't remember where I got this...probably up in Austin, TX, during the early '80s...has a bit of a crack in it now. Kind of nice to see these handmade buckles.

Pewter is often used to make commemorative buckles for organizations. This may have been something the company produced because they could sell them.

I got one from a friend that took a roundel from a bike or car (not sure which) and JB welded it over a round buckle of the same size.

There is a 100 year old motorcycle club in San Francisco. I think they used to be down on Market street. I don't remember the name. SF Riders, or something, I suppose.
They might know.
