My thanks toKi00LT,98lee and PGlaves for your advice regarding my problem. I did not receive any feedback regarding installation of an aftermarket temp gauge, however. Being the stubborn type , I dug a little deeper and found a good writeup on the IBMWR site tech articles on this subject by Bob Carter. Just what I needed. Just thought I would pass this info on. I ordered a new coolant cap today so I will let you know how everything works out at a later date. Thanks again
